International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA)

SLA participated in numerous virtual meetings organised by FIATA throughout the year to deliberate on issues pertaining to multimodal transport and international freight forwarding.

In 2020, FIATA went through a major restructuring with its “reset programme”. The head office has been restructured and moved from Zurich to Geneva, the centre international trade. The FIATA Logistics Institute was established to bring all education and training activities under one umbrella, and a digital strategy has been developed and is in motion to help freight forwarders enter the world of digital supply chains.

FIATA also provided guidance on the impact of the pandemic through several position papers and planned to continue guiding its members as it moves in a direction beyond COVID-19.
