To encourage member-companies to transform their logistics operations, SLA collaborated with WSG, SNEF and Singapore Polytechnic to organise a 2-day Robotic Process Automation (RPA) online workshop in July 2020. A total of 16 SLA member-companies benefited from the workshops and learnt how they could redesign job roles and automate some of the internal processes to bring about an improvement in productivity and assist their colleagues to move up the work value chain.
Aside from creating awareness of industry transformation and lean enterprise development initiatives, they also acquired useful skills to implement RPA in their work place. Areas of implementation include freight forwarding processes, collation of shipment documents for billing, extracting sailing schedules via PortNet, customer service, e-invoicing and e-quotations as well as financial reports.
