The Academy is guided by the valuable inputs of the Training Advisory Council (TAC) on industry trends and developments for curriculum standards and syllabi training of skilled manpower. Under the Chairmanship of Associate Professor Tan Yan Weng - Head, Logistics & Supply Chain Management Program, School of Business, Singapore University of Social Sciences, the TAC convened a meeting on 07 October 2020.
As recommended by the TLA Board of Directors, the meeting deliberated on the training gaps of the current TLA training programmes, making reference to the Report on “Logistics Workforce Transformation through Job Redesign Study” conducted by Ernst and Young against the backdrop of I4.0.
For existing courses, respective lecturers would be requested to review the Generic Skills & Competencies and fill the gap on I4.0 Technology Solutions Stack if applicable. This review exercise would result in meaningful course evaluation to prepare the logistics workforce for trending on digitalization.
